Historic Old Town Neighborhood Families are invited to explore our very own Vigilance Martial Arts studio! For 2026, we’ve been on a mission to visit the Konza Prairie Biological Station in all four seasons. Our goal is to deepen our Prairie experience and knowledge by intentionally observing and embracing the prairie’s beauty every season of the year. This is our fourth seasonal hike and we expect to see all the signs of fall! The prairie is beautiful year-round, in October we expect to see the prairie changing to all the hues of fall. Plan to join us: Meet-up: 10:30am at the Konza Prairie parking lot The Hike:We will choose the distance on the day of the hike. There are three loop options, ranging from 1.5 to 6.6 miles—perfect for tailoring to conditions and preferences. Post-hike we plan to venture to out for late local lunch. Come share the journey as we intentionally visit, observe, and compare the distinct seasons of the Konza in 2026! Move and groove with children’s musician Kyler Carpenter on Saturday at noon at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. This interactive performance features acoustic guitar, playful songs, and plenty of opportunities for dancing and movement, inviting children and caregivers to sing, dance, and experience the joy of making music together. Regular admission applies, which is $11 for adults and children, $10 for seniors over 65, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members.
