Washed Ashore Jelly Bloom Immersive Experience
NOTO Arts Center · NOTO
Step inside this immersive exhibit and discover larger-than-life sculptures created entirely from marine debris collected from beaches and waterways. Each stunning piece tells a powerful story about ocean conservation while showcasing the incredible possibilities of art made from recycled materials. Perfect for families, school groups, and curious minds of all ages, Washed Ashore offers a unique opportunity to explore, learn, and be inspired. (Reservations required for large groups.) Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea is a nationally recognized traveling exhibition created by a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting plastic pollution through art and education. Using debris collected from beaches and waterways, artists and volunteers transform discarded plastics into large-scale marine life sculptures that are both visually striking and deeply educational. Over the past 15 years, the organization has removed more than 35 tons of plastic pollution from the Pacific Northwest and turned it into more than 85 sculptures designed to spark conversation, inspire stewardship, and encourage changes in everyday consumer habits. The exhibit has been displayed at prominent venues across the country, including the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and even national television appearances such as The Kelly Clarkson Show and installations with Disney properties. https://www.facebook.com/events/934783329578377/?event_time_id=934783472911696

Horror Book Club
Round Table Bookstore · NOTO
Join us for our Horror Book club! Rosemary Woodhouse and her struggling actor-husband, Guy, move into the Bramford, an old New York City apartment building with an ominous reputation and only elderly residents. Neighbours Roman and Minnie Castavet soon come nosing around to welcome them; despite Rosemary’s reservations about their eccentricity and the weird noises that she keeps hearing, her husband starts spending time with them. Shortly after Guy lands a plum Broadway role, Rosemary becomes pregnant, and the Castavets start taking a special interest in her welfare. As the sickened Rosemary becomes increasingly isolated, she begins to suspect that the Castavets’ circle is not what it seems.

Sparks and Steam · NOTO
Our very own Anne Kufahl will be our featured artist for the month of September. Join us for the monthly First Friday Art Walk to view a collection of her self selected works. Gallery’s regular hours are Wednesday – Friday 11-6 & Saturday 11-4. Anne Kufahl:My interests have changed over time, and I am leaning towards new ways of expressing myself. In the past, my focus was to draw the figure using charcoal and oils as my favorite mediums. Presently, I am rediscovering new ways to create my art using more environmentally friendly materials such as water color, collage, tempura and acrylics. I’m moving away from the figure and investigating landscape and more abstract compositions. I have a degree in education with emphasis in English, Math, and Art from Washburn University and a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Kansas with emphasis in drawing and Painting.

Perfect for families, school groups, and curious minds of all ages, Washed Ashore offers a unique opportunity to explore, learn, and be inspired. (Reservations required for large groups.) Using debris collected from beaches and waterways, artists and volunteers transform discarded plastics into large-scale marine life sculptures that are both visually striking and deeply educational. Over the past 15 years, the organization has removed more than 35 tons of plastic pollution from the Pacific Northwest and turned it into more than 85 sculptures designed to spark conversation, inspire stewardship, and encourage changes in everyday consumer habits. The exhibit has been displayed at prominent venues across the country, including the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and even national television appearances such as The Kelly Clarkson Show and installations with Disney properties. https://www.facebook.com/events/934783329578377/?event_time_id=934783476245029
