Nineteen student artists are showcasing their artistic talents resulting from the 5th Annual ArtLockin held February 7 at Stephen Smith Gallery. Art students from Washburn Rural High School’s art program were challenged to explore a unique technique using mixed media led by professional artist Linda Rowell and WRHS Art Instructor Brad LeDuc. “Fractured Portraits” are created using a collaging technique from hand drawn portraits and other collected items to communicate their story. Students also learned about the “art of selling” and the business practices in selling through an art gallery.
Parking is FREE downtown after 5pm on Kansas Avenue, metered parking and City Garages.
