The 9th Annual 2026 Sunshine Reggae Roots Festival is a family friendly one day music festival held in Downtown Topeka Kansas on the corner of 8th & Jackson streets outside of The Celtic Fox. Featuring national,regional, and local Reggae and Ska bands, DJ’s, Food Trucks (including authentic Jamaican food) Beer Gardens, Arts & Crafts vendors, a kids corner, swag giveaways, and plenty of vibes and fun for everyone!!!

RAS NEVILLE & THE KINGSTONIANS (Kingston, JA /Lawrence, KS)
After coming to Lawrence Ks from Kingston JA in the early 80’s, where he recorded the hits“Haul & Pull Up” “Right Time” and the rare and sought after albums “Scientist presents Neville Brown with The Aggrovators at Channel One” and “Mr.Music Man”, Neville has continued his Reggae journey for the past 30 years in legendary local bands Common Ground and now The Kingstonians. Legend!!!

Award winning All-Star kings of Jamaican Ska,Rocksteady, and Reggae return! Backing last year’s headliner with a stripped down version of the band, they return this year with the whole crew and ready to unleash the full fury for our dancing pleasure!

Midwest Ska legends are back! Celebrating over 30 years and the release of new album “Take Two”, the crew from Omaha return to our stage since playing our sophomore event back in 2017!
SOME FRIENDS ( Des Moines, IA)
Few bands have made multiple appearances on our stage, but due to fan demand, SOME FRIENDS are making their 3rd appearance! With a great mix of original tunes and amazing covers, these guys always set the night a blaze!

Roots veteran makes our festival debut! Osezua’s music and message ignite the masses for a must see experience and we are honored to bear witness to the vibes!!! Backed by Lineage Fiyah!

Making his KS debut is the fire-spitting MISTER KALI! Bringing the Roots and Culture inna Sound System style, we are honored to host and showcase the award -winning artist!
