String Jam at Cafe Quetzal

What to expect at String Jam
Musicians: Acoustic string musicians are welcome to join the jam, frequently we see musicians playing guitar, banjo, fiddle, cello, upright bass, and mandolin. Musicians gather on the stage after 12:45 pm, with each musician taking a turn choosing a song and the group “jamming” along with the familiar tune. We frequently hear bluegrass and older rock songs, with occasional calls for audience participation to join in the singing.
Audience: Everyone is welcome to listen and enjoy the musicians – the audience is informal, inclusive and enthusiastic about gathering in community to enjoy live music together.
Bring along your coloring or crafting, chat with others or borrow games from the shelf. While the vibe is lively and fun, many people look forward to listening to this community-made music on their Saturday afternoons.
Arrive early to order lunch, a snack or drink. Cafe Quetzal is open from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and features delicious breakfast and lunch items including quiche, muffins, fruit parfait, salads and sandwiches, grilled cheese, avocado toast, egg and cheese burritos, plus a variety of coffee drinks, teas, Italian cream sodas, fruit smoothies, and more.
This free weekly event is hosted by Cafe Quetzal because music brings people together and Cafe Quetzal is a place for connection.
