NOTO Arts Center Sneak Peek Opening Reception

Join us for a special Sneak Peek Opening Reception at the NOTO Arts Center and be among the first to experience two new exhibitions opening this October.
Thursday, October 1 | 5:00–7:30 PMNOTO Arts Center | 935 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka
Two hundred fifty years ago, a document was signed that declared a nation’s intent, but not its completion. Clause & Effect invites artists to engage with the Declaration of Independence not as a relic, but as a living text that is layered, flawed, aspirational, and unfinished. Through a variety of artistic perspectives, the exhibition explores the ideas, promises, contradictions, and continuing conversations surrounding a document that has shaped our nation for 250 years.
A Solo Exhibition by Phoebe Trites
Between Nature and Imagination is an exploration of landscape, fantasy, and abstraction, moving from the recognizable beauty of the natural world into vivid, imaginative spaces shaped by color, wonder, and emotion.
Phoebe’s paintings invite viewers into expressive worlds where observation and imagination meet.
Come enjoy a relaxed evening at the NOTO Arts Center, meet fellow art lovers, explore both exhibitions, and get a sneak peek before the excitement of First Friday.
PHOTOGRAPHY BY TOBIAS SCHLUNGESIEPEN
Photographer Tobias Schlingensiepen invites viewers to slow down and rediscover the art of seeing. Created entirely with a cellphone camera, the photographs featured in this exhibition document his 2025 hike along the Appalachian Trail from New York through Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and into New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
Tobias credits the bicycle and hiking trails around Topeka with first inspiring his photography. In recognition of that connection, all proceeds from photographs sold during the exhibition will benefit the Top City Trail Alliance, supporting the volunteers who help maintain and make accessible trails throughout our community.
Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.
We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate new art, new perspectives, and the artists who bring them to life.
