đJoin Team Kitten and Royal Canin July 19th for a FREE community microchip event!
Team Kitten, with the support of Royal Canin, is proud to present a free microchip for 150 owned pets â both cats and dogs!
Microchipping is a quick, safe, and relatively painless procedure that provides lifelong protection. Once a chip is implanted it requires no maintenance or replacement. It does not act as a GPS or tracking device, but instead provides a unique ID number when a scanner passes over it â one that stays with your pet unlike a collar or tag that may fall off or get lost.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) :
âLost dogs with microchips are
returned to their owners at a rate of 52.2%, compared with just 21.9% for those without.
â Cats are reunited with their owners at a rate of 38.5%, compared with only 1.8% for cats who are not microchipped.
These odds increase when the chips are registered. Youâll be able to easily register your chip for free online in a secure online registry. Registering the microchip includes typing in your petâs chip number along with your information, which allows vets or shelters to contact you should your pet go missing.
âď¸Participants are strongly encouraged to reserve a timeslot ahead of time using the booking link. Time slots and spots are limited.Assistance for registering microchips will be available.
Location: Lower level of the Central Park Community Center1534 SW Clay St, Topeka, KS 66604
