Topeka High alumni Shawn Alexander is battling his third round of cancer; and this time its lymphoma. A large group of friends and supporters are rallying behind Shawn who continues to fight, with humility and grace. “Your Fight Is Our Fight” the slogan adopted by the group is their testament of admiration to his strength and courage.
One of Topeka’s hottest new places in NOTO, Studio 62 is putting on a benefit drag show this Saturday. Performers from Topeka, Kansas City and St. Louis are donating their time to show their support. The night continues to get hotter with Proycatz performing with LED hoops, food sales from Lago Vista Grill and more.
While Shawn will not be able to attend the benefit, he posted on the event page: “May god bless you all. Thank you all for showing your support! The LGBTQIA community sticks together and comes together for their own in times of need and this means so much to me! Thank you!!”
Topekans are known for our generosity and philanthropic endeavors. Let’s Party For A Cause and show Shawn and anyone battling yesterday, today or tomorrow that as an entire community, we stick together and support our neighbors.
