JC (Jewel Carter), national recording artist who was born and raised in Kansas City, is performing two shows Saturday at J+J’s in NOTO. Show times are 8p and 10p.

JC, dubbed the New King of Funk, has a raw funk sound with a slightly heavier edge, making him relevant, fresh and unique. Another uniqueness about him is that he is lead vocal as well as bassist.

As a studio musician JC has laid down bass tracks for artists such as: TUPAC and SHAQ. He has produced two motion picture sound tracks: Pharcyde’s “Can’t Stop the Music” from the movie Mr. Good Burger, and “Taste” from The Sixth Man.
