Shawn Ames

Kansas-based rock virtuoso, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, and sound engineer Shawn Ames weaves classic rock, orchestral, and cinematic influences into a unique sound. After touring with Midwest sensation Backlash and opening for legends like Alice Cooper in Topeka in 2005, Ames launched a solo career in 2016. He also has composed music for 20 movies, mainly Westerns. Playing every instrument and handling all production himself, he has released an album annually—including "The Eremition of Mad Dog" released on his 60th birthday, February 28 2026 and makes it his ninth album.

He is currently releasing ambient music as Moonglow Rodeo.
