“Certified Native American Artist, Culture Bearer, and Teaching Artist”
Lisa LaRue Baker (Cherokee Nation) is a traditional double-wall basket maker. As a former tribal staff member, she has taught hundreds
of children over a 20+ year timespan in cultural arts including baskets, cornhusk dolls, traditional clothing, jewelry, as well as guidance in the Cherokee history and culture.
Lisa has her work in many collections including the private collections of Leonard Peltier and NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson. Her other media forms include mobiography and digital manipulation, Cherokee twining and other textile arts.
