Just some good ‘ol rock ‘n roll can heal the soul.

The Phaders, a Topeka/Lawrence based band was formed three years ago with the aim to offer audiences a more diverse style of rock music/covers then their competition. Instead of performing just the classics of rock, The Phaders feature deeper tracks, some which have slipped through the cracks and most that make you say, “Ahhh….I love this song! I haven’t heard it in forever.”

An example of that is while some are playing “Mustang Sally” , The Phaders are playing “Cinnamon Girl,” “You Wreck Me,” and “White Room.” Instead of playing “The Joker” by Steve Miller Band, The Phaders play “Rock N’ Me.”

The five piece ensemble consists of Brad Renner, keyboards; Joe Gabel, bass; Mike Douglas, drums; Tom Luxem, guitar; and Cindy Luxem, percussion. All members contribute vocals.

In addition to a  more unique set list, The Paders utilize their own LED lighting and have a high-tech sound system, making them a notch above the regular back of bar Saturday night band.

They’ve been featured at Jam4Dan and play regularly in Topeka and Lawrence. Check out their Facebook.
