HBO’s American Winter | Community Screening at the downtown Ramada, 6th & Madison | Thursday, July 18, 7-10p | hosted by the Kansas Association of Community Action Programs

KACAP is proud to host a special community screening of the film American Winter. The screening and talk back will be free and open to the public.

Watch the film WITH the documentary’s director, Joe Gantz, along with John and Geral, the father and son whose story is included in the piece. Then participate in a talk back with them, moderated by Greg Kaufmann, author of This Week in Poverty.

America’s poverty crisis is what inspired the Gantz brothers to explore the impact of poverty in their new documentary, American Winter. The film follows several families everyday struggles to emotionally tackle the impact poverty has on entire communities.

For more information on the American Winter screening and talk back, the Kansas Conference on Poverty, or the Kansas Community Action network, interested parties should contact Jesyca Rodenberg at 785-234-0878 or jesyca@kacap.org
