100 years

William and Mary Iwig moved to the farm at 3320 SE Tecumseh Rd in 1910, where they raised seven children, gardened, raised livestock and ran a small herd of dairy cows from which they sold milk. 100 years later, the Iwig family is still producing and selling quality milk in Kansas from the same plot of land. Despite recent challenges brought on by the economy, Tim and Laurel Iwig are moving forward and looking to new ways of expanding their dairy production, bottling and retail service.

Iwig milk is popular among Topekans for its uncluttered, pure taste that comes from a small, family-owned dairy operation and its glass bottling.

The Iwigs will celebrate the 100th birthday of the Iwig family dairy tradition with a centennial celebration event on Saturday, June 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the farm. Admission is FREE and will feature live music, delicious food, and family-friendly activities featuring antique tractors, horse drawn wagon rides, face painting, horse shoes and more.

The farm store will also be open for the public to purchase fresh dairy products, including milk, cheese and ice cream, plus breads, jams and other farm-fresh products from other Kansas farms and producers.

The event will also feature a display of the Iwig Family Dairy history.
