Come visit with five guys biking across the country, in support of Falling Whistles, a charity that raises awareness and advocates for peace in the Congo. Wednesday, June 23 starting at 3 pm at the Topeka Community Cycle Project, 423 S Kansas Ave.
In the past ten years, about 6 million people have died in the war, with 1,500 people continuing to die every day. Because of the war, the region is a hotspot for sexual violence, and the exploitation of children as child soldiers.
The Falling Whistles campaign was launched with a simple plan–make their weapon your voice and be a whistleblower for peace in Congo. Because of the war, two desperate needs have emerged: the need for the immediate rehabilitation of the lives of war-affected children, and the need for a committed and organized coalition demanding for peace. Falling Whistles addresses these needs by using proceeds from whistle sales directly to restoring the lives of war-affected children in Congo, while US whistleblowers build a coalition to advocate for peace and fight for their freedom.

Thanks for the post!
I’m grateful that I could be a small part in the story of their journey across the country.
Please take the time to learn more about the Falling Whistles organization, and stay tuned. Topeka will be helping them even more than we have today.
