That novel has been rattling around your brain for years, and your inner Emily Dickinson has been screaming to be let out. You’ve wanted to show your writing to people for some time, but your friends don’t understand poetry and your grandma thinks your grocery lists are all masterpieces. Where do you get quality feedback and help with your writing?
seveneightfive magazine hosts a bi-weekly writers’ workshop as a way to get area writers together to share their work and talk about writing. Meetings sometimes involve a writing exercise, a guest speaker or a bottle of raspberry mead, but they always have plenty of coffee from Blue Planet and quality writing discussion.
All genres are welcomed and discussed, with the opportunity for everyone to learn more. Meetings are 6 to 8 p.m. at Blue Planet Cafe, 110 SE 8th Ave., and happen every other Monday starting Aug. 1.
The $20 fee covers copy costs and any other costs associated with public readings or printed materials. Anyone interested in joining should contact organizer Leah Sewell: leah@seveneightfive.com
