The Downtown Topeka Farmers Market and Heartland Visioning are proud to announce the beginning of the Music at the Market season. The season opens with the Blue Devils on May 1. Performers will appear between 9 and 11 a.m. near the south entrance of the Judicial Building at Huntoon and Harrison streets, downtown, on Saturdays.

Heartland Visioning began the effort to introduce live music at the market, including both local and national acts, to create more of a “festival air” at the popular Saturday spot for shopping and socializing. Many genres of music will be featured, kicking off with the blues and weaving its way through bluegrass, rock, indie, country, barbershop, ethnic music + more.

The Schedule:

June 5 Tas Cru from New York – “Cru is a singer-songwriter in a kind of rootsy blues tradition, with authentically gruff vocals and a nice touch on the slide guitar.” – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. First Saturdays sponsored by the Topeka Blues Society.

June 12 Eli Cook

June 19 Chris Biggs (yep, that’s right, that Chris Biggs, Secretary of State)
