original battle of the bands

Downtown Topeka is the place to be Saturday night if you like your music heavy, original . . . and conveniently located.

Two great venues are hosting some great bands; all within walking distance from each other, so you have the opportunity to attend both without the hassle of jumping back in the car and driving across town.

Supersonic Music, Downtown Topeka and CD Tradepost are co-sponsoring the Kansan Grill Battle of the Bands. From 8:00 p.m. to Midnight (Saturday, September 18) you’ll have a chance to hear some the hardest original bands Topeka has to offer.

Jayme Green tells us, “It is an all ages show with a $5 cover charge.  The show starts at 8pm with Bury the Memory opening the night, The Just Cuz Blues Band will play next, then we, Invictus, will do a guest set.  Vagus will follow us and then Bloodshed will be the final band of the evening.”

Judging will be provided by associates of V100 radio, seveneightfive magazine and others.

Down the street and ‘round the corner at the Celtic Fox, Topeka band and recent SevenEightFive highlight, Sixteen Penny, will be performing their hard rocking original songs for their ever-expanding group of fans. The band will also be showcasing their new bass player, Dave Holland, thus insuring a historical night for all involved.

Show starts at 9:00p.m., with special guest Jake Hodge opening.

So come downtown, park your car and enjoy a great night of music by some of the best Topeka has to offer. Let’s work together to make downtown Topeka the place to be, where the parking’s free, the night’s still warm, and all the beer is wet and cold
