What you love…and hate

I really enjoy reading seveneightfive Magazine. It is such good source of information for all those who like to stay up-to-date to what is happening in Topeka’s Entertainment Sector.

Please keep up the good work!
785 is all about helping protect and develop nightlife, entertainment and arts in Topeka. Great work on that front.

Everytime I see a copy of your terrific magazine, I think about the day you brought your first edition to our meeting (AWC) at the library.  You took a plan and made it work!  Good for you!  It’s a great idea, great magazine!

I just saw “Transcendent Deli” on KTWU, and if you aren’t moved by the film and by the people and memories in it, you need to make sure you still have a pulse.  Well done, Matt and all the seveneightfive and Gizmo crew!!!
- Jim

Glad to see your group at Uncle Bo’s enjoying Rock’in Jake and Band.  My hubby and I have followed this band for about three years.  First saw them in Topeka….  Thanks for all the info you pack into each magazine and then email us the weekend highlights.  Happy 3rd Birthday!
Continue up and up! – Sue
In a world that is quickly going non-smoking, information that would have REALLY been helpful in Volume 4, issue 3, would have been which of the establishments offering cheap eats were also non-smoking.  It doesn’t matter how wonderful the food is or how reasonably priced.  If the smell of smoke is everywhere, I simply will NOT go.  How about cheap eats and non-smoking?

As someone who helped start a similar magazine years ago in a much different city, I was cheered to see your zine a few weeks ago downtown.  I read every story and think you’re off to a great start. Keep up the great work…

Great magazine…just what Topeka needs!

I work with Maria Torrez and she showed me the seveneightfive.  I must say it was very well written and very entertaining.  I enjoy reading it and look forward to the next issue.  I have tried a few different places such as the Brick Oven and the Rendezvous Grille due to your publication and have enjoyed them as well.  I’d like to tell you about a place that is sort of hidden and not very well known yet.  It’s called the Down Under and it’s located at 3810 SW Topeka Blvd under the Plaza Inn.  They have karaoke on Monday and Tuesday night from 8-11pm.  They have a jam session on Thursday night and generally bands Friday and/or Saturday.  The owner, Joann, has the best personality as if she never has a bad day.  She makes these crazy jello shots and experiments with new flavors all the time with my favorite being Strawberry/Hot-Damn.
From one appreciative and loyal seveneightfiver!

I shared 785 with a person I met at the Lawrence Chamber Mixer.  I get a really nice reply from him. See below. Cheers! mbp

Good Morning,
Thank you, for taking time to send me the seveneightfive magazine.  Not only is it an attractive product but I must confess it even enlightened me a little on your city.  I guess I’m still a Lawrence guy but I get over to the Capital City every once in a while, and I’ll do the right thing by trying to keep an open mind to all of the exciting offerings of your home town.
