The 23rd annual Mulvane Art Fair is June 6 – 7 at Washburn University and features 14 Topeka-area artists, food vendors and a beer garden near the music stage.
* Read about Becky Drager’s art in our current print issue.Fourteen Topeka-area artists have been selected to exhibit in the 23rd annual Mulvane Art Fair with more than 90 artists from 17 states. All artist will have works on display as well as sell paintings, drawings, prints, photography, jewelry and work in fiber, glass, wood, bronze, steel, ceramics and textiles.
The juried fair, which attracts thousands of visitors to the Washburn campus each year, is organized by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum (FOMAM). “Fair-goers can easily spend the entire day at the Art Fair,” said Jeanie Schuler, FOMAM board president. “In addition to an expanded food court, this year’s fair will feature a beer garden near the music stage. The Topeka Blues Society will present musical entertainment throughout the weekend, including two national touring acts. As always, families can enjoy hands-on art activities in the children’s tent. All proceeds benefit such Mulvane Art Museum children’s programs as Art Lab and many other education programs.”
Times: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7
Cost: $10 at the gate; children 12 and under free.

Crazy 8’s Concessions: Fun festival food including pork tenders, corn dogs, chicken fingers, fried pickles, pretzel bites, fresh roasted nuts, assorted drinks and funnel cakes.
Southern Star Cafe (new): Known for barbecue they serve at their restaurant at Forbes Field, Southern Star also will serve pork and beef tacos with their own specialty salsas and sauces.
Dundees (new): From Maryville, MO, Dundees will be serving gyros, smothered burritos, taco salads, nachos, chili cheese fries and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Auletti’s Italian Ices (new): Similar to sherbets but without the milk and cream, Auletti’s will serve cherry, chocolate, lemon, mango and blueberry. Located near Children’s Tent.
Cashmere Gourmet Popcorn: A favorite at last year’s Art Fair, Topeka’s own Cashmere Popcorn offers pre-packaged, gourmet creations including blueberry cheesecake, mint chocolate, pecan delight, chocolate, caramel crunch and cheesy cheddar.
Chartwells Catering: Washburn’s own campus food service will be serving hot-off-the-grill hamburgers, hot dogs and brats, along with bottled water and soft drinks.
